Assistant Professor of Government

Mashail Malik is an assistant professor at the Department of Government. She specializes in the political psychology of identity, with a focus on ethnicity, immigration, and internal migration. Her book project is an interdisciplinary, mixed-methods inquiry into the rise and fall of ethnic parties in the megacity of Karachi, Pakistan. She received a PhD in political science from Stanford University, an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Economics and Philosophy from Beloit College. She is a native of Islamabad, Pakistan.
