The Harvard College Library is working with other FAS units to reduce the costs of coursepacks and sourcebooks by using content that is already licensed for use within the Harvard community.
Kathleen M. Sheehan, HCL library liaison for the Government Department, at 5-4030, is available to help faculty members and teaching fellows take advantage of the thousands of online titles that are available for use, without cost, and to offer orientation in how to establish links from the reading lists on your course websites directly to these licensed resources.
Also, the HCL website has two pages with information on these issues:
- A detailed research guide that includes information about e-resources, linking and copyright guidelines
- General information on Course Reserves Service for Faculty and Instructors
There is also a handy Reserves Tool Quick Reference Guide for FAS Faculty and Course Staff available.
