Hello everyone! My name is Kieran Kelly and I am a senior in Mather House. I am a Government concentrator with a secondary in History and a language citation in Spanish. I am thrilled to be a resource for you all this year!
I am deeply passionate about the law, advocacy, and politics. Having pursued the Law and Justice track, a sizable portion of my Government coursework has been law-oriented. Moreover, I am applying directly to law school and am writing my thesis on the Colombian Constitutional Court, for which I received Harvard funding for a month-long trip to Bogotá. My favorite course I have taken, Professor Holland’s Gov 1114: Law and Inequality, actually inspired my thesis topic!
Outside the classroom, I served as the President of the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Review and have dipped my toes in a range of IOP programming. However, the majority of my non-academic engagement has been off campus. I have worked on and off with Cambridge Local First, an alliance of small businesses advocating for a sustainable local economy, on a variety of advocacy projects. I, too, have worked with Integrity Initiatives International, a non-profit founded by Judge Mark Wolf to advocate for an International Anti-Corruption Court, devising an advocacy handbook for the organization alongside other Harvard students. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my love for the Government department!
