Hi everyone! My name is Justin Xu, and I am a Delawarean living in Lowell House. I double concentrate in Government and Applied Math with a focus in Mechanical Engineering.
I’m passionate about capturing and implementing engineering processes and optimization in public policy, with applications in clean energy and transportation. I’m especially passionate about aviation, rapid manufacturing, and military strategy and logistics. I’ve previously worked in the United States Senate, advising my Senator on issues related to manufacturing and trade, clean energy, and appropriations. Some of my favorite government courses have included American Foreign Policy and Ethics and Public Policy.
On campus, I have been involved in HMUN, the Small Claims Advisory Service, Harvard Pops Orchestra, CBE, and the Think Tank. I also love to swim, run, travel, and cook. I declared government as a double concentration after having originally pursued a secondary — please reach out if you’re in a similar situation. I’m happy to chat about courses, extracurriculars, or life in general — related to government, double concentrating, or otherwise!
