Jordan Ecker
Lecturer on Government
Dr. Jordan Ecker is a political theorist and a historian of political thought. His dissertation, “The Politics of Natural Society,” developed an account of the emergence of the concept of ‘natural society’ in 18th century Anglophone political thought at the close of the early modern period, and analyzed the concept’s implications for its progenitors’ horizons of political possibility, and their understanding of the practice of political theory itself. He also maintains scholarly interests in critical theory, democratic theory, and is broadly interested in using resources from the history of political thought to help clarify problems in contemporary political theory.
