Daniel J. Epstein completed his PhD in Comparative Politics at Harvard University, working on democracy and party systems in Russia and Brazil. He taught at Colgate University for several years, and held a post-doc at the Skalny Center at the University of Rochester and a Fulbright Lecture and Research Scholarship in Bryansk, Russia. In 2016 left his academic position to work on a US Presidential campaign, and later was a candidate for the US House of Representatives in West Texas, where he also taught Political Science at Texas Tech University. His current research focuses on party systems, nationalism, and democracy.
