Christopher Hopson is a PhD student in the Department of Government, specializing in political theory. He studies the history of political thought, law, and American politics. Christopher’s primary research interests concern African American political thought and its engagement with topics at the intersection of law and political theory, including constitutional design, jurisprudence, and democratic theory. He also maintains broader interests in American political development, normative ethics, feminist political philosophy, and Continental philosophy. Christopher holds an AB in Social Studies and African American Studies from Harvard College. He has worked as a research fellow at the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, and as a political consultant at The Raben Group in Washington, D.C. He completed his MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford in 2023.
