Hey everyone! My name is Sofia Chavez, and I am a junior at Currier House studying Government on the Law and Justice track with a citation in French. I am super happy to be one of your PCCs this year!
Most of my education at Harvard focuses on political theory, and I am particularly interested in the relationship between the government and the law regarding women’s rights. As an international student from Mexico, I enjoy debating about Mexican politics and journalism! Two of my favorite courses are Gov1295: Comparative Politics in Latin America with Professor Levitsky and my sophomore tutorial “Pain in Politics.” On campus, I am an intern-bilingual at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau (HLAB) and a member of the Language Center. In my free time, I enjoy digital photography and learning new languages.
The Government Department has a lot to offer! Please feel free to reach out to talk about courses, career opportunities, pre-law studies, language citations, study abroad, double concentrations, work balance, or college life! I am looking forward to meeting you!
