Hi everyone! My name is Abby Carr and I am a senior in Quincy House (best house!) concentrating in Government. I’m from Maryland and New Mexico, and have spent the past few summers in Washington, DC through the Summer in Washington program. I am so excited to be one of your Government PCCs this year!
My interests in Government include comparative politics, democratization, and authoritarianism. Having worked in the Senate, think tanks, and public interest legal research, I have a wide range of interests and am always open to chatting about all things political theory or politics. Some of my other favorite classes in the department include Gov 1790: Foreign Policy with Joshua Kertzer and my sophomore tutorial on Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan with Amy Chandran.
Outside of class, I am a member of the varsity swim team, and am involved in various programs at the Institute of Politics. I am also a member of the Veritas Forum and am a Staff Writer for Harvard Political Review. I love giving advice and mentoring people, so please feel free to reach out to chat about academic and extracurricular opportunities or about politics and the state of the world!
